Pastel Portrait Work in Progress

Pastel on cardboard

The Darkroom: Beginning

Photos I've taken for various assignments. Still life, fragment, and point of view.

The Darkroom: Experiments

I took a film photography class this last semester. I didn't realize how much work it took to initially develop film and all of the technical knowledge needed for it. I learned how to expose, develop, dodge, burn, use contrast filters, etc., then took it an extra step to add myself to it. Here is what I created this semester:

Three of the same images stacked on top of each other with several doors cut out.

Negatives stacked on top of one another then exposed.

Three separate images layered under resin.

Model behind cicada wings glued to acetate.

The hardest to achieve: two images exposed separately with the background dodged.

Drypoint Cameo

I've sold all my cameos from this edition, two on Etsy and the last one to friends. It's always such a huge compliment when someone buys my work.

Chalk the Block Terre Haute

We signed up for Chalk the Block during the Downtown Terre Haute Block Party. We haven't been doing much since school started so we decided to try this with Luke. We drew his favorite tv show as he helped either draw or shade himself n the 90+ degree weather (at least it felt that way).

We even won the Family Division for this event and Luke has been attached to his trophy ever since.
